Robot

On a happier note Ty has been into robots lately. He makes anything into a robot. So he asked Daddy last night to make a paper bag into a robot. We had to get a picture. Notice the one red eye peeking through the eye hole. Kind of creepy but cute!

Geese

Our house must be in a migration route for canadian geese or something. Everyday for the last month or so we have been seeing and hearing geese flying over our house. Especially the last few days at about four or five o'clock even more than usual have been flying over head. It kind of reminds me of the movie Birds. HAHAHA. Anyhoo We have been amazed by them, so I thought I would see if I could get them on camera. So here they are. On a side note, everytime I see and hear the geese I imagine my dad pretending to shoot them with his "gun finger". Because that is what he would do while I was growing up. Dad you would get lots of practice out here right now. One more side note... you may want to pause the music on the side of our blog if you want to hear the geese.

Sick day!

So this is how we have spent most of our day today. Poor Ty was the last to get the cold Chris passed on and it seems that he has it the worst. All day his temp has been in the 100's. So we have watched movies all day! I have decided that there are good things and bad things about your kiddos being sick. The bad thing is you never like to see your child miserable. But on the other hand when they are miserable, they are more willing to snuggle with you. Our kids rarely want to snuggle on a normal day, so we like to take advantage of these sick days and get all the snuggle time we can in.

Hair

I have decided that having a girl is so much fun. Not that I don't have fun with Ty, but you can only do so much with boys' hair. With girls, there are so many milestones. We have the pony tail and the double piggy tail on top of the head then they slowly graduate being able to more and more hair back. We are not quite to the point were I can pull all of Lucy's hair back, but we have found our way to the piggy's at the back of the head. And can I say, I think it looks super cute! It is just killing me. So, I thought I would post some piggy pictures. Our baby is growing up!

Primary Reality

When I was the Secretary in the primary presidency in Iowa, my favorite time was sharing time. The innocents of those kids would crack me up. You would ask a question like what do we do when we are upset and one kid would raise his hand and innocently say "My mom will say bad words" and all the adults would get a good chuckle out of it . Well Ty has been a sunbeam two weeks now. Last Sunday I had a lady in the ward tell me "your little boy is so cute" I was a little worried because with it being his first Sunday as a sunbeam he was pretty nervous. So I asked her did he do okay in there? Then she laughs and goes on to tell me. "Oh yeah, in sharing time we were talking about how we are all a child of God and Ty tells everyone he is Not a Child of God" Then on Saturday at a Primary activity the Bishops wife tells me again how cute he is . I say yeah I heard that he is not a child of god. then she tells me more ...on that same Sunday the bishop was talking about how our mom and dad love us. and Ty again loudly says my mom and dad DON'T love me nobody does!. I laugh and start thinking... great, our Ty is going to be the kid who makes all the adults laugh, and every time we drop him off we will wonder what he is going to say. This Sunday no embarrassing things were said but I'm still hearing about how We don't love Ty from various teachers who were in primary that day.

Help!

Okay I have two problems and I would love some input. The first is... Now that I have taken down my holiday stuff. My bare fireplace is really making me crazy! Does anyone have any advise ?I don't even know where to start. Because we are living on the peanuts Chris is making we don't have much of a budget. If we did I would just hire someone who has taste but that is not an option right now. I have thought about maybe a clock or something and I have seen those cute bowls but I don't even know what you are supposed to put in them. That is as far as I have got I'm hopeless. Now on to the second thing.... Chris and I have talked about painting the walls in our front room. I'm not even sure what colors would look good on our walls with how light our fireplace is. So if any of you have an idea I would love the input.

Spring?

Today we enjoyed 60+ weather outside. We are no longer used to having time after church to do stuff because our previous church schedule started at 2pm so usually we would come home from church, eat dinner and get ready for bed. So when we came home today we ate lunch then took naps at our regular times. It was so nice. When the kids woke up from their naps we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and test out the new tricyicle from Santa and the new skates from Grandma and Grandpa Cook. (Ty Actually got two sets of skates for christmas but we were able to take one back and get his styling Bob the Builder helmet and pads he is wearing so thanks Grandma and Paupu). The Trike only lasted a couple minutes it was hard for Ty to stop because it was so high, so he went back to his old bike where he felt more comfortable. I'm hoping Santa didn't buy it for nothing. I guess only time will tell. We then moved on to the skates with a little convincing we got them on and off he went (with Daddy's help of course) as you will see in the video it was super cute. Then he wanted to take everything off and play with chalk instead. Two minutes later Ty tripped and got a bloody nose. So much for enjoying outside. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. Now it is back to cold weather the next couple of days.
